Further research (Method of construction: Per-Fabricated)
In this post, I will discuss the Per-Fabricated method I will incorporate into my project.
What is per-fabricated (prefab)? Prefab is a method of constructing a house in different parts in separate factories. Then, they were transported to the construction site to be assembled, creating a house (Potton, 2022) .This method is what I want to use for this project because it saves time and does not require the construction on-site. Despite having it transported to the construction site and assembled there, this can avoid damage to the land nearby so that other houses can be built simultaneously. My project will be mass-produced to cover the whole neighbourhood of Cromwell. In the neighbourhood, different parts of the area have various land sizes; prefab houses that have already been built can be added to the home's size or shape. Moreover, prefab houses usually have a modern style, which is perfect for my idea of the house design.
Prefab houses are also sustainable method of construction. Globally, prefabricated construction is becoming more and more popular as a means of enhancing productivity and mitigating the negative social and environmental repercussions of conventional construction operations (Zhengdao Li a 1 et al., 2014) .With this, families that will be living is the new Cromwell neighborhood should not worry on the cost of living the prefab houses. It suitable for new families who wants to start a new life in Cromwell.
As seen above, this is an example of a prefab house made by Potton. With my design, I will ensure to make is in a modern and minimalist style. This will be talked about more in my next post.

The phrase is 'pre-fabricated' - meaning it is manufactured and ready to build before it reaches the site.
ReplyDeleteI thought you had second thoughts about the Prefab idea? Are you going ahead with this now?
