Idea Development: Final Design
In this post, I will share my final design and a few changes I have made based on my previous post about some initial designs I have created.
I have selected a design for my house that combines the features of the second and third drawings, as shown in Fig.1, Drawing 1. Adding an additional structure above the main skillion roof provides extra space to add more rooms inside the house, making it an ideal design choice. The second floor will have a large window overlooking the front view of the house. I have also included a sizeable dividing wall as it offers privacy to the family and space for an open garage beside the dividing wall. The sloped wall design of the house was inspired by the idea of taking a roof and connect it to the ground. This was all my imaginations sketches that I have place on a piece of paper and ended with a final design.
I am satisfied with the final design as it has the unique feature of having the skillion as the main roof for the house, giving it a simple yet distinctive look compared to other suburban houses in the United States. The open garage concept is also cost-effective and allows access to the backyard. The dividing wall provides privacy and an organised look to the house when placed next to each other. Since the design will be used throughout the neighbourhood, it is essential to have it organised for easy management by the City Council of Cromwell.
In my next post, I will research suitable materials to use in house construction.
