Further research (Materials for construction: Solar panels)

In this post, I will be researching solar panels for my project. Solar panels are essential for creating sustainable projects that can reduce energy costs. They also ensure that the house is equipped with modern technologies, making it more durable for future generations. By utilising intelligent technologies with the help of solar panels, houses can keep up with modern trends.

Even though solar panels are great for sustainability, they have advantages and disadvantages. Solar panels offer a sustainable energy solution with several advantages and disadvantages. One of the primary pros is their ability to significantly reduce electricity bills (Crail, 2024). They also contribute to a smaller carbon footprint and generate their own energy while not having to depend on other sources of energy. On the other hand, cons include the high initial cost of installation and the fact that their performance is weather-dependent, producing energy only when the sun is shining (Crail, 2024). Additionally, not all solar panels work on every type of roof. For my design of a family home. The top roof of the house is flat and has a large surface area, which is suitable for installing solar panels. Despite these drawbacks, solar panel's long-term financial and environmental benefits make them a worthwhile investment for my project.

Solar panels come in different types of efficiency that can affect the overall cost of the solar panel system. Each brand of solar panels offers different pricing for their products. After thorough research, the most suitable brand of solar panels for my project is Silfab Solar. The model used is SIL-420 BG 420 W, which provides a 20% efficiency rate at an average cost of around $20,000 (Walker, 2024). This solar panel model will be used in all the houses within the neighbourhood of my project. However, clients will be given the option to choose a different brand if they prefer.

  1. Okay, some interesting and thoughtful research here and a good idea for a project such as this.

Keep it up and start to post more developed concept sketches of your design idea that include where the solar panels will go - it is important to think about this - here is a guide to where to place your solar panels:
